Sometimes, the best way to experience a place is on foot. Or, in winter, on snowshoe! Let yourself truly experience the peace of a Sierra Nevada winter as close to nature as you can get. Strap on your snowshoes and blaze your own trail, or follow in someone else's footsteps. You'll see Plumas County in a whole new way!

A Snowshoe Wonderland

The Plumas National Forest Service and Lassen National Forest Service offer information and maps of snowshoeing and cross-country ski areas within these forests.

Snowshoes can be rented at Mountain Hardware in Blairsden, and at Bodfish in Chester.
