Bring your love of adventure, and discover new and breathtaking views around every turn in the trail. From short day hikes with the family, to weeks-long backpacking treks through the high country along the Pacific Crest Trail, you will definitely find the trail for you here.

The Pacific Crest Trail Association's web page has detailed information on the PCT, including trail conditions, trip reports, maps and trip planning tips. The Plumas County section of the PCT can be accessed from various places in the county, including the Lakes Basin Recreation Area, off Bucks Lake Road, and along the Quincy/LaPorte Road, among others.

Plumas Eureka State Park is a great area for hiking, and is convenient to the town of Graeagle as well as to Lakes Basin.

The Lakes Basin Recreation Area, just south of Graeagle up Gold Lake Road, offers 47 trails and over 30 alpine lakes. Discover the natural beauty of the area practically from your doorstep! And whatever you do, don't miss out on a hike to the Sierra Buttes, one of the signature features of the eastern Plumas area! You won't soon forget the climb to the old fire-lookout tower, or the spectacular view from the top.
